What is 22K gold?
22K gold contains 22 parts gold out of 24, or 91.67%. It is often called "916 gold" after its hallmark and is the standard for wedding and festive jewellery in India, the Gulf states and many Asian markets.

Gold is traded internationally as pure 24K metal per troy ounce. To find the 22K price, multiply the spot price by the 22K purity factor of 0.9167 and divide by 31.1035 to convert ounces to grams. Today that gives USD 122.27 per gram of 22K gold, compared with USD 133.38 for pure 24K.
